What the role of tomcat apache services and conf. Properties file.

Apache services is used to only take the console on sepm server from browser.?

Please correct me .

Apache Tomcat is used for all SEPM 12.1.TABs Like Policies,Clients,Monitors,Licence,Admin and Reports tabs.
