TouchDown

My TouchDown-installations disappeared on both my Samsung devices after the update. Gone. Only the TouchDown Pro-License icon is still there. Luckily this didn't happen while I was on the road but being home on holiday a couple of days.

What now? Just to re-install? What's the problem behind this issue?

And a follow up question:

I assume that I should do a re-install (however awaiting response so that I don't do anything hastily). Should I, before the re-installation, erase all the contacts that was "copied" from TouchDown to the Android contact list?

The best way to remove the Touchdown contacts is to go to Device settings>account and remove the Touchdown account.

Not sure why they were removed- do you have a Mobile Device management system or an antivirus or anything that has that ability? I would try reinstalling and let us know what occurs.

The TouchDown icon was gone from my devices "desktop". Went through the different "desktop"-pages and the "Apps" library several times. Nothing. Looking in "Contacts" I could only see a smaaalllll, strange icon, an envelope, which I didn't recognize and hence it was an icon for "we have no idea what this comes from".

When you now asked me to look for the TouchDown-account I assumed that would be gone as well. But no, there it was. But with the same, new "insignificant" icon as in "Contacts. Went through the "desktop"-pages again. Nothing. Went through the "Apps"-library again. Several times. And then, suddenly I found not only the old, familiar TouchDown Pro License icon but TouchDown with this new icon. I opened it and everything worked. Only had to put it back where the old icon was on the "desktop".

Case closed.

Maybe blind but this was a bit unsuspected and bad (lacking) information from Symantec's side.

The TouchDown icon change was on Symantec and frankly, I don't like the icon change... it is indeed an "insignificant" looking icon and confusing as it looks like my SMS inbox.

The disappearing of the icon on your Samsung devices is due to the new Android software.  Everytime you add a new app... the icon goes to the end of the list of apps...  you have to manually re-alphabetize them after adding a new app.   So that issue isn't on Symantec...  but Samsung.

I know, I recently switched to Samsung and am finding that very counter intuitive initially as well.
