Transaction logs...

Created: 29 Nov 2010 | 3 comments

I keep this error....is there anyway around this?

Database JDECTL900 is configured to maintain transaction logs.  Transaction log backups are not being performed.  This will result in the log growing to fill all available disk space.  Regular log backups should be scheduled or the database should be changed to the simple recovery mode.

Do one of those.

If you aren't doing transaction log backups now, then you can't need them, as if you did need them you'd know you need them, and you'd being them.

You're probably better off switching your database to the simple recovery model, which is done in SQL, rather than Backup Exec.

Yah

BackupExec has always had this problem.  One would think that they would follow the Microsoft Model of truncaing logs when a FULL SQL backup is done, but they don't

You can schedule a FULL backup followed by a TranLog Truncate job to have Backup Exec truncate the logs
