transfer an archive to a different mailbox/user
Hello all,
how can I transfer an existing archive to another user ?
The situation is the following:
- user A gets a different job within the company; user B gets the job of user A
- user B wants to retain its own archive, but should also get access to the existing archive of user B. He should be able to add new items to this archive as well.
- user B should be able to start a clean archive, to collect the mails connected to his new job
How can I accomplish this ?
We use Enterprise Vault 2007 (7.5 SP3).
Should this issue already be covered in a different forum-link, please point me towards it, as I did not find anything at first glance.
Many thanks,
A. Biermans
Hi, Yes this can be done

Hello Wane, I did the
Hello Wane,
I did the following:
- renamed archive of user 1 to "old archive user 1"
- I added user 2 to the users who have access to "old archive user 1"
- I denied user 1 access to this old archive
- I did a ZAP for this mailbox "user 1"
- then re-enabled this "user 1", thereby creating a "new archive user 1"
Is this correct ?
Two questions remain:
- I can not remove user 1 from the list ("automatically set permissions"). I read this has to do with permissions coming from Exchange, but I don't see how I can solve this.
- is it also possible to use EVPM to give access to a subfolder of an archive, instead of on the level of a whole archive ?
Many thanks in advance,
Annemie
Hi Annemie, If the Vault
Hi Annemie,
If the Vault Admin Console will not let you remove user 1 on "old archive user 1", simply set it to deny, If it was inherited from Exchange you will not be able to easily remove it from the archive, so hence setting it as deny
Yes it is possible to set subfoler permissions on an archive. I do not have a image on this laptop so cant give you the exact syntax sorry :p
