Trial Licence File Expired In Symantec Workspace Streaming

Hello All,

Hope you can help,

I have just downloaded and installed a Trial of Symantec Workspace Streaming 6.1 SP4, everything installed ok but I cannot start the Streaming Service because my Licence file has expired.  This makes no sense because you should get 30 days free with a Trial download and I downloaded it about 30 minutes ago, I can see the key but it ended in 2009, Why have Symantec bunndled an old key with the package.

Please help because I would like to test.

It is possible that you installed the new version with eval / trial license on the same server machine where you had installed the previous version with trial license? In this case the previous license could still be in effect. If it is a VM try reverting to base image and install the product again alternatively you could request a new eval license generated from support.

Same here.  Installed 6.1 SP4 on a fresh VM and the 30-day license was expired immediately.  Streaming server will not start.

I just noticed that the license file had an issue date of Aug 17th 2009, which means if you had ever installed streaming server with this license and had used it for 30 days or if you are installing 1 year from the issue date, the eval license is not valid. Please use the attached license file and upload the normal way you would upload a license file in the streaming console and you should be good.

Note: Make sure you rename the extension from txt to lic before you upload.

Hi,

Thank you for providing the evaluation license for Symantec Workspace Streaming Server....
Can you tell us why we have to find this license ourselves on a Symantec forum? We are trying to get this expired license issue solved for over three weeks now, you partners cannot help and your support organization cannot help either.
Is this really the way you want us to meet the pre-sales product support of Symantec?

Sorry about the inconvenience. The new eval license can be made available on the trialware site or alternatively requested from the product technical support team.
