Trialware has no license

    Hi

    I've installed Protection Engine trialware but can't do anything because it's not licensed.  When I go to the console and login, the only option available is Install License.

    Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    I would be glad to answer your query.

    I hope you are talking about Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP).

    After the trialware license expires, you must activate a paid license to retain full product functionality. You do not have to uninstall the trial-licensed version to convert your Symantec Endpoint Protection installation to a fully licensed installation.

    The trialware license expires 60 days after you install the product.

    can you post the screen shot of the trailware console of the scan engine?

    whats the browser you using?

    when did you register for trialware?

    is it more than 30 days?

    I registered a while ago (for SEP), but never installed it.  I assumed the trial would start when I installed?

    Is that not how it works?

    You will need to get a trial license for this.  Not sure why the website didn't create one for you when you download the trialware.  The product won't function without a license.  Speak to your reseller or customer care to get a trial license.

    Hi Pete,

     

    I have the same problem, after download the trialware Symantec_Protection_Engine_CS_7.0.2.4_Linux_IN.zip and installed, I can access the console.

    But I can't get the license file, can you show me how to get the trial license file?

    You should have been emailed a license file along with a pdf of the serial key.  Did you not get these?

    Then you need to speak to customer care to get a licence key.  I've had to do this a few times when I got sent a corrupt license file
