This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

recently I've upgraded my backup infrastructure to the 7.1.0.1 of Netbackup (coming from 7.1 version)

Everything was ok except for an incremental backup of a huge vm (this vm was the only one that we used to backup in this way) where is installed Enterprise Vault for Exchange mail archiving.

This vm has several vmdks, some of them ly on Datadomain NFS and are set independent (contains freezed datas) and the other disks are on SAN volume and set to non-independent (the only ones that I'm interested to save).

Consider that on this vm I'd like to do a full backup during the weekend (1 TB of datas backup) and during the other days incremental.

Before upgrading to 7.1.0.1 everything was fine and we could backup It in less of one hour for just 15-20 GB of datas. After the upgrade, when the incremental backup run, It stucks for a couple of hours without backup anything (but on vSphere Client we see several "Release Disk Lease" message) and after this time, It takes 5 hours circa to backup 400 - 500 GB !!!

Considering that this vm grows of 4-5 GB per days of new objects archived (so we we cannot understand why Netbackup run in this way) my incremental size should be very "small"

We've asked for support to Symantec and Vmware also but they cannot find any error on their side. Any of you that have same issue?

Thanks!

run in the same way.   I've

run in the same way.

I've solved removing the 7.1.0.1 patch and caming back to the 7.1 version of the Client. I can do easily since my Off-Host server is a different server from the Master Server

I hope you have vmware rollup

I hope you have vmware rollup patch v3 installed. Anything less than 7.1 with rollup 3 or 7101 has a possible data loss situation.
