  • 1.  Trouble cloning disk with two partitions

I'm trying to clone a disk that has two partitions, using Local cloning. This disk has a C: partition that is 1.99G (of which 1.44G is used) and a D: partition which is 14.9G (1.30G is used). The trouble is, after the cloning, the new drive only has the C: partition! I am choosing Disk-to-Disk. Do I instead need to partition the new drive first, and then do partition-to-partition twice? It seems silly and like a pain. The new disk is 36GB in capacity, whil the old disk is only 18GB.

    Hi Misty,
You are right in that you shouldn't need to do partition to partition copy twice. A disk to disk copy should have done the trick.
To help figure out what is wrong, can you please perform the following steps to get an error log (ghosterr.txt), and attached the output as a comment here.

    1) either via Ghost UI or command line, specify your operation.
    2) When you are at the screen asking you whether or not to proceed with the operation, press Ctrl + C. This should abort the operation and generate ghosterr.txt file.

    Regards,

    Peter
