We just upgraded our Deployment Server from 6.5 to 6.9.
We have multiple PXE servers and ran into a strange problem where on two of our DELL servers (all our PXE servers are DELLs), the remote PXE installation would hang at 64%. Running the installation (axinstall.exe) locally from the server would cause the install to hang at 37%. They would hang like this for hours until the process was stopped.
After nearly a day of troubleshooting we found out that it was the DELL Remote Access Card which was causing the InstallShield installer to hang. We stopped any/all services for the RAC and the installs completed successfully.
Doesn't happen with all DELL servers with RACs in them just the ones with Dell Open Manage 4.5 installed (at least for us). Figured I'd share since this experience was so frustratingly painful I couldn't, in could conscience keep this to myself.
