This is John responding. We build a Vista image and choose all of the defaults to create the image. Upon sending the image to the lab we:
CREATED IMAGE USING ALL DEFAULTS UNDER CREATE IMAGE
1: Select the image file
computer used for base image is on domain and all updates apllied
2. Select lab on the network
3. Prepare using sysprep
Operating system and Product key Windows Vista Business
4. Check Automatically perform configuration task after completing imaging task
5. Check Boot to production to complete configuration task.
When we did this process under 6.9 lab would image and machines would join domain without issue. Now under service pack 1. We couldn't get pcs to join domain. Thats when we started looking at the sysprep file for a solution.
All we want is an automated way like we had of imaging the pc's in our labs and having them joined to the domain. I know to some of you this is basic knowledge but we have 1200 pc's to image and automation is very important to us. What has changed that is preventing us from having an automated process for vista and or for that matter xp.
Appreciate all of your time and advice.
