File Share Encryption

I am trying to make a BartPE WDE recovery disk. I have successfully created a bootable Bart CD, but when I type pgpwde --enum in the command box nothing happens!

I'm using PGP Desktop 10.2

In fact, no matter what I type will work.

pgpwde --enum  < Nothing

pgpwde --status  < Nothing

pgpwde --status --disk 0  < Nothing

I get no results at all. I do not get any errors, it simply returns to the command prompt.

When I navigate to the C drive there is nothing there. Empty.

I need a working recovery disk.

Any idea what I am doing wrong!

I am about to encrypt over 300 laptops. I must have a way to recover if the need arises.

I am using Windows PE & BartPE Tools for PGP Desktop 10 - PGPpe-10.2.0.zip, Windows XP SP3.

I had the same results using Windows PE 2 and the WAIK. No errors and no results.

I'm not able to help you with this approach, and hope someone else here can.  If you are using a PGP Universal Server, you should consider WDRT use, and there is also the option of the WDE Recovery CD.

There is actually a known issue that we made changes to our SDK for PGP Desktop 10.2 and it no longer works in a WinPE recovery environment. THis is a bug that was reported by me. They are working on a hotfix for this issue which could possibly be released by the end of October.

Thank you... Thank you... Thank you... I'm not going insane... How will i know when the patch comes out. How can I get my hands on it !!!

If you have an Enterprise Technical support case open with us. We will notify you there. Alternatively, you can PM me wiht your email address and I will email you when the fix is out. I think they are also working on a workaround that might work until the patch is out.
