  • 1.  Trying to decrypt/uninstrument after formatting disks

    Posted Sep 02, 2013 02:53 AM

    Hello all.

I have a laptop with two SSD disks (Former hybrid disks upgraded to two SSD disks instead). Before formatting both disks where encrypted with PGP, i have then reformatted disk 0 (which is the boot disk) and reinstalled windows 7 64bit. Disk 1 has also been formatted.

Now I have installed PGP again, and trying to decrypt the disk. WIthout luck, am getting "Not permitted by your administrator (-12198)" error.

There is no data on the disk - i am only interested in removing PGP from the disk - as this should no longer be encrypted.

    I do remember the passphrase.

    Looking forward to your response.

If they've been properly formatted, you shouldn't be having any problems at all.

Could be related to this however: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH195061

I fixed this using "Dariks Boot and Nuke" disc. (http://www.dban.org/)
