I'm trying to install SEP on an end user's machine and they keep getting the error "Incompatible Norton product (Norton Antivirus) has been detected.  Kindly uninstall Norton Antivirus before installing Symantec Endpoint Protection for Mac".  When I look at the users machine, they do not have any Norton products installed.  The user does have a file with Norton in the name, however, this is not an execudible file.

    Any help would be appreciated.

call support and get cleanwipe tool

run the cleanwipe and then install SEP

    or

Cleanwipe is avaialble in file connect.

You can go with valid key

    https://symantec.flexnetoperations.com/control/symc/registeranonymouslicensetoken

Download the tool part2.exe from file connect.

Extract it and copy the cleanwipe from there.

    or

download norton removal tool and run it before installign sep

If this is for a Mac, cleanwipe won't work. Have you tried searching for an leftover remnants of Norton? Anything showing up as leftover?

Pl let us know what OS? Do a search in regedit by the key word Norton or Symantec if you found. Any entry pl take back up of your registry and clear it or as rafeeq said call Symantec get the tool for uninstall.
