  • 1.  Trying to login to SEP Manager - loops asking for credentials

Hi, this problem doesnt seem to match any other threads I've seen in this forum, although some are similar.

Installed SEP, using embedded database and the "default web site" - install completes fine.  World Wide Web Publishing service, Symantec embedded database service, Symantec Endpoint Portection Manager server all run OK.  IIS allows anonymous access, etc - no obvious problems anywhere.

Additionally Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange runs fine - and can be administered without any problems.

My problem is that when I try to login to the manager I'm asked for username and password - I use the username admin and the password I selected (note that if I enter the incorrect password - it refuses my entry).  It then appears to start the manager and the "loading bar" goes across the screen, but then it throws me back to the username/passwordf screen without giving any error.

No errors are reported int he IIS log or in the event viewer.

I've uninstalled and re-installed, I've restarted the server several times - still the same problems.

The server is a Windows 2003 Small Business Server, 3GB RAM and an "OK" processor.

    PLEASE help me!!!

Let me answer my own question.  I installed SP2 for Windows 2003 and IE7, rebooted and then it worked!
