  • 1.  Two 6.x R13 Questions

    We currently have an initiative to get our 6.x NS's upgraded to R13 (Currently R11). I've been reviewing the release notes but have a couple of questions.

    1) In previous upgrades I do not remember needing to install or upgrade components following the Rollup install. Step 6 reads:

    Install the solution components in the following order through the NS Console:

    • Altiris_TaskManagement_6_0_1524.exe
    • Altiris_DC_6_1_KB49882.exe
    • Altiris_InventorySolution_6_1.exe
    • Altiris_InventoryPackForServers_6_1.exe
    • Altiris_ApplicationMetering_6_1.exe
    • Altiris_MonitorCore_6_0.exe
    • Altiris_MonitorAgentWindows_6_0.exe
    • Altiris_MonitorPackServers_6_0.exe

    Is this necessary? If the solution fixes are in the rollup why would we re-run these? We also do not run Monitor Solution here.

    2) I know there is an NS Agent update that will need to be deployed. Is there also a PS Agent binary as well that needs to go out?
