  • 1.  unable to add a folder in exclusion - receiving error msg

    Posted Sep 23, 2014 07:55 AM

SEP12Ru4Mp1 installed. I am receiving this error msg when trying to add a folder to be added to the exclusion list:

    Request contents are invalid: [0x120c0000]

    Any help??

Are you adding on the client itself? Was the exceptionm already set from within the SEPM.

Did you check the registry to ensure the exclusion wasn't already there?

I get the same error message when trying to make a copy of the policy. I can however export the policy , but cannot import it into my LAB SEPM. Same error message.

Sounds like the policy itself may be corrupted. How big is it?

What's the path you're trying to enter?

I'm curious as to if yo're being affected by the same issue as described in the below article, which states that specific strings cannot be used.

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH199851

As an example, I've tried to add a security folder exception for "c:\JavaScript\temp" and I get the attached error (on a test 12.1RU5 box)

No, adding it to the SEPM. Updating an exclusion list that never had the folder entry.

What I have done is import a backup policy done 3 months ago- added the entry and replaced the old policy.
