    Hmm,

This would be on the server side, that you get the error, right?
What happens on the client side?

The reason(s) I could see this happen is a post-deployment job, that's set to run in DOS (automation) and your computer can't boot to it?
The other would be that you have post config set as part of an image deployment task and that's failing (partially due to the above reason)?

I'd look at the last executed task, the current executed task and perhaps the next task in line and see what settings these all have. One of them likely has DOS set as the execution environment and then you 'just' need to troubleshoot why you aren't able to boot the client into DOS

    Am also getting this message.

One other question: am also unable to locate BDCgpl.frm ANYWHERE on the net. Can someone provide a link to it? Is a dos-boot actually necessary?

Sorry...My point is, if I am deploying images TO systems from the console rather than FROM blank systems, do I actually need a pre-boot environment?

For imagining you will always need a pre-boot environment. Whether you boot from a CD or use PXE with DOS, WinPE or Linux. There is no way to image a computer within the production OS.

So, I am a bit dense here, as per my previous post, I am unable to locate a BDCgpl.frm file anywhere on the net which, I gather, FREEDOS needs. If I use MSDOS (as in either w98 or 6.22) do I need a similar file? I don't have WinPE available so that option is out also.

The help is a tad vague as to what exactly the steps are to create a base image and/or deploy a base image in regard to a pre-boot OS.
