  • 1.  unable to build domain cache for domain

    Hi all,

It seems that CCS requires domain admin or equivalent rights to create the domain cache. So I have the following questions:

    1. Where in the documentation is it described that for setting the domain cache credentials a user with domain administrator rights is required?
I could not find any reference within the user guide, the installation guide or the planning guide. The only Symantec answer on the issue is:
        http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH189675

    2. Therefore my second questions would be how Symantec advises to proceed with CCS implementation when domain administrator rights are not provided which  is usually the case. It mentions that equivalent rights would be also acceptable and effective: "In CCS 11 by design of the product, domain admin or equivalent credentials are required to build domain cache". Can anyone please define the exact equivalent rights needed?

    3. My last concern is if we go with the option of providing the domain administrator credentials in the CCS console itself and store them. How Symantec guarantees the security of storing domain credentials in the console?

    Many thanks,
    Nancy

There is a quick fix available for when you don't have a Domain Admin account to assist in building the domain cache.   I don't think it is publically available yet, but you should be able obtain it via tech support.

    Hi!

indeed it seems that there is a hotfic available by Symantec that resolves the issue.

The update is currenly referred as "CCS_Reporting&Analytics_v11.0_10005_2835477_QF.zip" and for now you can ask it from the support team, but soon they will release an official update I think.

    Many thanks for your answer.
