Unable to communicate with reporting component

Hi,

I upgraded from MR4MP1a to RU5

After I login, the Home, Monitor,Reports icons are blank, and I get an error "Unable to communicate with reporting component"

SEOM installed On Windows Server 2003 R2, Using Embadded Database

Tested the ODBC > Successful

Try this

in the folder program files\symantec\symantec endpoint
protection manager\ php.ini

put these lines in ON :

display_errors = Off

display_startup_errors = Off

login in the reporting site by IIS manager and and check what is the error you are getting

 Paste the scm-server-0.log

 Paste the scm-server-0.log with is present in Program
Files \Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\logs also here

Hi

Are you trying to log in from RDP or local to the box?
If RDP try loggin in with console access most of the times it works...

check the permtion of Inetpub

check the permtion of Inetpub and reporting folder.........add iss_<hostname> and isw group...........

Things are EASY with File Sharing....... It makes easy for Viruses also...!!

Try this it worked for me in one case

To resolve this issue you must re-synchronize the database with the console. Please follow these steps:

Browse to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin\ and launch Upgrade.bat.

Follow the on-screen prompts in the Upgrade Wizard Panel and once it has completed attempt to login to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and verify that the error is no longer received.
