  • 1.  Unable to communicate with reporting component after SQL change

    Posted Nov 22, 2011 02:33 PM

    So

Currently my SEPMS hit a SQL server cluster enviornment and were using SQL authentication. I recently changed it to use Windows Authentication and immediately after using the Server Management configuration wizard, and trying to log back onto my SEPM I got the "unable to communicate with reporting component" error, and as expected the Monitors and Reporting panels are blank...

My question is the ONLY change I made was changing the SQL authentication method from SQL to Windows based, did SEP change something that I need to check??

    IIS?

    Any ideas?

    Thats a Big change..

the sem5 user that you created at the time of installation was a SQL Username.

Now since you have changed the authentication SEPM will not be able to connect to databse.

It should be in Mixed Mode authentication.

Or else re-configure SEPM to use Windows User account to connect to DB
