  • 1.  Unable to Create Custom Field - Service Desk 7.1 SP2

    I am trying to create a new custom field on Incident Mangement. Say Cost Center.

    I am currently installed SD 7.1 SP2.

    As per the customization guide, I followed the steps mentioned in customization guide. (SD.Data).

     In the GeneratorsManagement window, expand Generators then double-click SD.Data . The Generate Components wizard opens.
    
    Highlight ServiceDesk Incident and click on Add Property.
    
    The Edit Property window opens. Type a name for the property then select the property 
    
     Type from the drop-down list. 

    I recompiled it and saved it. However the new custom field is not displaying under Profile Definitions  --> Incident Management.

    Am I missing any thing. Please help.

    Hi,

       Have you created an incident since the additional field?   If you check the database (I think it is ServiceDeskIncidentManagement table {I can confirm this later}) are the new fields listed in there?

    Yes, I was able to create it in Incident Magagement. However if I try creating it in Change, it is not happening.

    Any ideas?

    Anything in your Log Viewer in the Symantec Workflow Explorer with a database error after trying to create a change?    Are the fields showing up in the change database?

    I am not finding any errors also the filed is not showing in the change data base.

    However I am able to create new fields in Incident.

    I have the same issue, I need to put custom data in the SD.ChangeManagementsimple form.

    If someone could help me.
