  • 1.  Unable to create a deploy image task

I am having the same EXACT issue as described in another forum (which happened to be closed either yesterday or today)

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/unable-create-deploy-image-task

When trying to create a "Deploy Image Task", I can fill in all relevant information, such as the image name, product key, etc. but when I click ok to actually create the task, I get the error message "The data could not be loaded."

After which, I've tried putting the deploy image task in a job and running it, but the image doesn't work on the client machine.  It just reboots in a BSOD (blue screen of death) loop.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem yet?  I currently have a call into Symantec's Tech Support, and has been escalated to an "advanced engineer".  I'm running Altiris 7.1 Deployment Solution, Windows 2008 R2 server.

It would seem a fix is available:

    Does this resolve the issue?

Awesome, that actually worked!  Thank you so much!

Just on a side note, it didn't appear that the .config files copied over.  I know the article stated that I'd get an error message, and I did, but didn't understand why they'd need to be copied "one by one" if they weren't actually going to be copied over.

Regardless, I'm able to create a "Deploy Image Task" now.  Very happy!
