    HI,

We are using symantec 12.1 version, after updating the Symantec client, it is not deleting the previous definition date folder from " Definitions\VirusDefs " folder,

If we try to delete the folder manually, we are getting this error "cannot delete ECMSVR32: Access is denied make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use"

    Any resolution for this....

    Thanks.....

    Hello,

Take a look at the security tab to see if the group you're a member of actually has full control over the folder.  It's possible that the permissions problem on this folder/s is what's causing whatever issue you're experiencing that's leading you to try to clear out definitions.

    Also, check this Article:

Symantec Endpoint Protection virus definition folder consumes a large amount of disk space

    Hope that helps!!

Stop SMC service from RUN window and then try to delete the folder.

It that doesnot help then stop Symantec endpoint protection service from services window and then try to

    delete the folder.
