Unable to delete old Backup Job

Created: 01 May 2014 | 5 comments

Hello,

At my company we are running Backup Exec 2012 on a Windows 2008 server. Now there are two old jobs that I want to delete from the job list. But every time I want to delete them, I get the following error:

I have searched the almighty Google but all the solution there aren't working. Even from the BECLI I get the same error.

Is there anyone that can give me a solution to this problem?

Would recommend to contact technical support for a formal case so that these jobs could be deleted out of the Backup Exec DB.

When you execute Get-BEBackupDefinition, does it return an object?

Hi,

Make sure you are updated to the most recent Backup Exec 2012 patches. The most recent one is revision 1798 HOTFIX 216746.

Excuses for reacting this late. fridays is my day off and yesterday I was very busy.

@pkh: Yes I got all my object including the one I want to delete.

@Imosla: No we aren't up to date. We currently are at SP2 Hotfix 209149. I am considering udating, but i need to know waht the consequenses are. Am I losing my current jobs or am I losing my tape robot in the sofware. I still need to figure that out.

Lanithro,

running Live Updates wont affect your current jobs or devices.  refer: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO74437 and http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH66724
