Hello All,

I've found the new remote push difficult at best.  I've been able to successfully deploy clients to other servers, but I've run into an issue I can't seem to figure out.  Previoulsy I was getting the login failed error and followed the documetation from Symantec to resolve (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&pmv=print&impressions=&viewlocale=&id=TECH91715).  However, on this server I'm not getting a login failed error, the installer just fails, even so I followed the steps above to no avail.  I've also ensured that Network Discovery is enabled, file sharing wizard is disabled, and I can access the admin share fromt he SEPM server.

Is there a log somewhere I can look at to determine the cause of the failure?  Or does anyone have any ideas on this?

-Thanks

Curtiplas

Questions and Suggestion

Hello,

What Type of Network Environment are you carrying??

Is that Domain Network OR Workgroup Environment??

If you need to deploy Symantec Endpoint Protection to the computer, or will need to do so at a later time, use one of the following methods to allow traffic on the deployment ports:

  • Disable the Windows Firewall.
  • Create an exception in Windows Firewall for Windows File Sharing.
Creating an exception for Windows File Sharing opens port 445.
  • Open port 139, port 445, or both in Windows File Sharing manually.

Hi Mithum,   I've added the

Hi Mithum,

I've added the necessary exceptions in the windows firewall, and it did not work.  The network is a Windows Domain network.  I can't disable the Firewall Easily as it's controlled via GPO.

The server in question is a Windows 2008 Server (32-bit).

you can enable the finest

you can enable the finest logging and see if you get the logs in the tomact foler.

To enable the Finest logging add scm.log.loglevel=Finest to the conf.properties file under SEPM/Tomact/Etc folder

once enabled you can look for scmserver logs under SEPM/Tomact/Logs folder
