This issue has been solved. See solution.

We have upgraded from versino 12.1 to 12.1 ru1

we are unable to export install packages, hangs at retrieving package data from management server.

* Deleted old packages and ran upgrade.bat, Increased Java heap size

* Also ran a repair of SEPM

* Installed new SEPM on another server , able to create packages however when old db is restored we are not able to create packages.

Could somebody help us get over this situation.

check this from Pete.

  • Repair the installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager from Cd1\SEPM Folder.
  • Run Management Server Configuration from C:\Program Files\Symantec\ Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Bin\upgrade.bat
  • Use Migration and Deployment Wizard and it will create package now
  • From Admin > Install Packages> Client Install Packages also try to export the package

Hello,

Could you try creating a package with Basic Content option instead of All content and check.

Symantec is currently investigating this issue.

As of now, I would recommend you to Uninstall and Re-install SEPM 12.1 RU1, which would resolve the issue and you would be able to create the client packages.

Again, make sure you have created a case with Symantec Technical Support as well.

I would suggest you to open a Case with Symantec Technical Support.

You would have to call symantec or log a web case.

RU1 MP1 has been released.

In my case, as with many others, this update has fixed the issue at hand.

Please try updating to the latest Maintenance Pack to see if it helps with your problem.
