Why does this not work (name, e-mail, and passprhase changed to protect the "innocent")

    pgp --gen-key “Company email@company.com” --key-type rsa --bits 2048 --passphrase “Jack and Ji11 went up the hi11 T0 fetch a pai1 0f water Jack fe11 d0wn and br0ke his cr0wn And Ji11 came tumb1ing after”

https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH176699.html seems to indicate this should work though it doens't talk about the --key-type or --bits option.  The command line was copied DIRECTLY from the evaluation guide.

I posted on your other issue as well.  Just in case you didn't see it, the quotation marks are incorrect.  They are from a different, non-standard character set.  Delete just those, replace, then run the command again, and it should succeed.

I managed to dig up an older version of the evaluation guide and it did look like the quotation marks are messed up in the guide (not the right character set).  The commands were not meant to be copy/pasted, but I agree that they shouldn't use non-functional characters in the example.  I am discussing some options for fixing that with product management.

Will give it a try, but it's very lame that Symantec can't publish a manual with valid, up-to-date information.  Very unprofessional.

Yes, this allowed me to complete the setup.  I'm glad you're working with people on the manual, but they need to understand there can be NO excuse for poor, outdated information in an electronic document.  L.A.Z.Y. syndrome seems to be rampant in the software industry.  It needs to stop.
