Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition

Hi,

Need help on installing fresh copy of Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 MP3 on a Windows 10 station.

The installer keeps rolling back during the installation.

Tried to run the cleanwipe several times but problem persisted.

Please take note is a fresh install. No previous Symantec products were present.

Attached both sep_inst.log and SIS_inst.log.

Please try installing the SEP client with only the core files.

If that installs you can then add any other component that you need.

How do you install just the core files?  I also have a fresh install of Windows 10 Enterprise (fully patched) and none of the installers for Endpoint protection will succeed (also nothing previously installed)

Starting with 12.1.6 MP3, the most recent my Universtiy offers, it tries to install then goes right into rollback and then ends stating something happened.  I then tried to install MP1a and got the same result.

Since the program doesn't install there is nothing to uninstall using the Windows "Programs and Features", so I resort to using the CleanWipe utility.  Afterwards, I tried to install just the version I have of MP1a with the same result (rollback > fail).

The odd part is that on the previous hard drive I had in my computer I was able to install MP1a just fine and rand it for the last year or so.  But on the fresh installation of Windows 10 on a new hard drive I cannot get it to install and I'm wondering if there have been some Windows Updates that are mucking things up.

I'm currently unable to install any version of Endpoing Protection and saw the note to ty to install just the core files.

Please advise how to do this.

Thanks, it turns out both the Windows Defender and the UAC are the problem. Disabling them both resolved the issue
