  • 1.  Unable to Install SEP 12.1 RU2

    Hi All,

    We are experiencing installation of SEP 12.1 RU2 on the machine that has Sophos. We ran SEP with SepPrep tool on the machine and we got this error. Thanks.

    Are you able to install any previous version of SEP? does it throw the same error?

    Hmm,

    Its Sophos causing the issue.

    1. Click Start or use the Windows + R to open the Run... box.
    2. Type in the following, then click OK:
      services.msc
    3. Locate the service called Windows Search, then click the Stop icon on the top action bar.
    4. Once stopped, perform another uninstall (as required).
    5. If the problem has been resolved Start the service again so as not to lose the indexing facility.

    Once Done then try to install Symantec again. smiley

    Hello,

    Could you try Performing a System Restore to revert to an older date (probably to a week ago) and check if SEP 12.1 RU2 gets installed?

    Here the Thread was resolved after running the Installation on D drive.

    Try to install different Drive may be problem resolved
