This issue has been solved. See solution.

Trying to install latest version of SEPM (4.00.6001.00) on a Server 2008 (that is also AD, the only server in the company). It fails immediately after the pop up box saying

"To continue the installation, make sure that the Internet Information Services (IIS) World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC) is installed and running. On computers that run IIS 7.0 or later, the following IIS role services must also be installed: ASP.NET, CGI, and IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility."

...with the message

"The wizard was interrupted before Symantec Endpoint Protection Manaer could be completely installed."

I have installed those requirements. The relevant part (I think) of the install log that I copy in below also say it is. What else can be wrong? I see a "Info 2835.The control ErrorIcon was not found on dialog SetupError." just before that message.

Have you try ... ...

Hi terjetrane,

From the log, I believe the server is waiting for a restart.
After that, you may want to try the following : -
Please enable those in the IIS 7 configuration menu.  (ASP.NET, CGI, and IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility.) The second link will show you how to enable it as well.

http://www.iis.net/getstarted  (IIS7 guide.)

Also,

I am not sure will this be your end solution, I endup combine fastcgi and IIS7 to make endpoint manager run smoother.

http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/246/using-fastcgi-t...

Hope it work out for you. Let us know :)

hi,, the Internet Information

hi,,

the Internet Information Services (IIS) World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC) is installed and running. On computers that run IIS 7.0 or later, the following IIS role services must also be installed: ASP.NET, CGI, and IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility.

this is the reason its not proceeding. Follow the steps mentioned by Ken and let usknow the outcome.

Cheers
Pete

Are you sure you have ALL the

Are you sure you have ALL the requirements installed? I received the same exact error trying to install this on a Windows 2008 server today, with the same exact messages in the log.
I ended up realizing that "IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility" is required including ALL SUBCOMPONENTS. Once I installed those the install went smooth.

That was it...

As you say. I had only checked IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility, and not all subs (WMI, Scripting, Console).
Thank you.

other roles: member Server,  F/P and then hopefully Antivirus Server....

Any ideas?
