Hello,

Have you upgrade to Java 7?

Java 7 is not supported with SEP 11 / 12.1 RU1 MP1. However in the further releases of SEP, it may be supported.

Here are the steps with Java 1.6 update 31 to access SEPM via Java console:

  1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Java 1.6 update 31 installed on the SEPM server.
  2. Open a web browser and go to: http://localhost:9090/
  3. Once the site comes up click the "DOWNLOAD & LOG IN" link (the upper right hand button).  This should launch the remote console.
  4. If you get a Java security error that says "Block potentially unsafe components from being run?" click "No".

Hello,

I would recommend you to downgrade to Java 1.6 Update 31 / Update 33 (below Java 7).

Also, make sure you delete the Java SEPM console desktop shortcut and Login again via IE.

Hope that helps!!

Hello,

What version of SEPM are you using?

Did you delete the Earlier SEPM Remote Java console from Add/Remove Programs along with the Desktop Shortcut?

Check the Following KB Article:

Error: "Unable to launch the application" when attempting to access the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Java Remote Console

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH96362

Remote Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console compatibility with JAVA versions 1.6.x and above

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102328

Check this Thread: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/symantec-endpoint-protection-manager-incorrect-java-error

Hope that helps!!

After updating Java 6 31 to 6 33, I can't access the console remotely.

Already uninstalled the console from add/remove and reinstalled, no luck.

Please don't tell me the solution is to go back to an older version of Java. Oracle releases new versions because of security updates.

Neverminid...

worked after clearing java cache.
