    Greetings!

    I have no issues with my manual check for updates.

    Has this issue just started to occur on your system?

    Does it happen everytime you try to manually check for an update?

    What updates do you have installed? (Besides RU1?)

    (Do you have the SCSP and SWG PAC Updates that came after RU1?)

    What browser are you using?

    Are you behind a proxy?

    If this is a reoccuring issue then you should open a support case.

    If you open it via the web submission, please include your log files. Use the attached XML file per instructions from :

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH165885

    After turning on Verbose logging and recreating the issue please use the Saving the Files Locally instructions.

    Regards.

    * This is a fresh install

    * Only SEP 12.1 RU1 is attached to SPC 2.0 RU1

    * Manual never worked

    * Automatic does work

    * No Proxy box in front of host

    * Chrome Web Broswer

    Do you get the same error if you use an IE 8 or FireFox installation?

    Thank you for the update. Reply back to my email if you would like me to contact you about this issue.

    Regards

    Greetings!

    What user account are you using when you are attempting to do the download of the updates?

    SPC_ADMIN is the only account, regardless of assigned permissions, that is able to do several basic functions, such as check and install updates, modify system level configurations, and disable integrated products.

    Other accounts may have the "option" to do a task, but that task will fail when it is attempted.

    When in doubt, make sure to use the SPC_ADMIN account to perform a task.

    Regards

    Wiped server and re-installed SPC 2.1.  Problem is no longer persistant.

    NOTE: You must start from scratch with SPC 2.1 to fix issue, in place upgrade failed.
