  • 1.  unable to locate imaging tool for windows x64 environment

    Hi,

     

    Im running Altiris Deployment Solution 6.9 SP6. Issue is that i get error "unable to locate imaging tool for windows x64 environment" when i try to run deploy image task using ghost image. WinPE4 x64. My old rdeploy image is deployed fine in same envonment.

     

    I have confirmed that i have Ghost64.exe on my server.


    Any ideas?

    Can you verify that the correct imaging engine is selected when deploying images and that the drive letter mapping is working in WinPE.  If your drive letter is normally mapped as the F: drive, then you may want to change it.  On newer hardware the F: drive is already assigned locally to a drive on the computer and when it tries to look in F:\Ghost\Ghost64.exe ... it wont be able to find it.  I always set the WinPE drive mapping to Z: to avoid this issue.     i second moving all drive mappings to the end of the alphabet to prevent conflicts with weird OE parition schemes. just don't use X: as that's reserved for the winpe ramdrive. is there any reason you can't recapture your image using rdeploy or imagex?
