  • 1.  Unable to release mails from Spam Quarantine

    Posted Mar 02, 2014 05:17 AM

    Hi All,

    We have two SMG gateways; one for inbound and other for outbound mail delivery. Both are running software version 9.5.3-3.

    The problem is that we have a lot of outbound mails in the Spam Quarantine. When I try to release them, I get the error  "Cannot release the message. It has either been released or was unable to contact the SMTP host."

    When I run the command nslookup -querytype=mx <mydomain> i get a public IP.

    I have set the Control Center's SMTP Host setting to 'Use existing non-local relay settings'. Under the Host Configuration, for Outbound Non-Local Mail Delivery I have selected Use MX Lookup for non-local domain mail.

    I have read the KB article TECH89134, but could not really figure out how to go about it. I tried the solution 3 but did not work and was still getting the error when trying to release mails.

    Could some one please help me with this. Thank you.

    Regards,

    Faiz

    I faced the same problem before like this, when i Define new Host with my internal SMTP IP address with port 25.
     it work fine with me.

    Control Center---SMTP----Define New Host with port 25

    Hope it will work with you.

    Hi;

    In this case you must use the smg outbound interface ip.
