  • 1.  Unable to restore database from old backup

    Posted Jan 05, 2011 09:26 PM

    Hi,

I have SEPM RU6 MP1. I am trying to restore embedded database.

    1. Installed SEPM RU6 MP1 with same hostname & IP address.

    2. Updated server certificate.

    3. While restoring getting this message" could not read local site update sequence Number  information from the restored database. The restore might have failed"

I have two backup files but no one is working.

    checked this KB also

    Regards,

    Ajeet

could be the the DB back is corrupted, you may need to select another one and try to restore.

Also you may compare the backed up DB with restoring DB by checking it's MD5 values.

Are you trying to restore a backup from a older version of SEPM...if yes then try installing the older version , restore the backup, upgrade the SEPM to RU6a first, then upgrade the clients. From RU6a you can upgrade to RU6 MP1 or MP2, other upgrade paths are not supported.
