  • 1.  Unable to retrieve ThreatCon level

    We are running Symantec Mail Gateway 10.0.2-4 with 1 Control Cetner and 4 Scanners on VM. Initially we were able to see the ThreatCon level on the Control Center console. But I noticed recently it doesn't show up. When I checked BrightmailLog.log, I see "[BrightmailScheduler_Worker-44] ERROR - Connection to http://securityresponse.symantec.com refused", but I can ping to securityresponse.symantec.com from the control center.

    I have restarted the controlcenter service and there are no proxy settings in our environment. Anybody has any idea?

    are you able to open that URL in a browser?

    AFAIK its because of proxy or firewall issue..

    I had the same problem some time ago. The solution for me was creating a static route in the firewall of my environment for the IP´s of http://securityresponse.symantec.com.

    You can obtain the IP's with the nslookup command in any of your scanners.

    (escannerx)> nslookup securityresponse.symantec.com

    After do the routing, without restart the control center service you can be able to see the ThreatCon level.
