Unable to start a DCOM Server: {7E477741-01A6-4C06-9DAC-55F6174C08A3}. The error:"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. "Happened while starting this command:C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SescLU.exe -Embedding

Getting this in the system event viewer. Each message repeats 7 times every 6 minutes for a 24 hr period. Anyone seen this? SEP 11.0.2.1567 & LiveUpdate 3.3.0.61

Looks like there is another DCOM error. Also previous errors coincide with LiveUpdate checks which eventually lead to delayed write errors (NTFS) @ the login prompt..

DCOM got error "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. " attempting to start the service LiveUpdate with arguments "" in order to run the server:{03E0E6C2-363B-11D3-B536-00902771A435}

Would this be @ the server level or for each w/station? I did check the w/station I got the event log from b4 I posted as i have had dcom issues in the past from the ISScript driver but the impersonation level was set to Identify

That would be an easy enough forget about it approach to a w/station issue, but this is an enterprise deployment that could possibly escalate... Right now, all the machines that had a problem would get delayed write NTFS popups that would result in someone rebooting the machine & this seems to solve the problem for now while we wait for the next round of LiveUpdate checks...

I am trying to understand the root cause so as to address the "disease" rather than treat the "symptom". Open heart surgery may not be a cure for the common cold, but surely tis easy enough to claim the resulting sterile environment & constant post-op care cured the patient's cold... right?

I really sometimes wish we could hold software vendors to a higher standard when it comes to troubleshooting and fixing errors in their products as the all encompassing "uninstall & reinstall" Microsoft approach begs the billions in their coffers...

Cheers!

LU & dcom errors

Unfortunately not. We simply put all the workstations on a reboot timer so that each would reboot at least once every three weeks which is the schedule the LU was on, & that seemed to alleviate most of the errors. Unfortunately, this really is the purview of the security team & we are the CM team. Once we eleminated the calls to the helpdesk, our involvement was very limited.

Any update about this problem?

I'm having the same problem on a computer with Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.4202.75 and Live Update 3.3.

Everything was ok for 6 months on ~50 computers and now i'm having this error on an important computer.

The probleme occurs for the first time on October 29 and it's appen again today.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: DCOM
Event Category: None
Event ID: 10000
Date:  2009-11-19
Time:  15:23:01
User:  AUTORITE NT\SYSTEM
Computer:

Unable to start a DCOM Server: {7E477741-01A6-4C06-9DAC-55F6174C08A3}.
The error:"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.
"Happened while starting this command:C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SescLU.exe -Embedding

Nothing change on this computer, no new update, no new hardware, no new program.

When the problem occurs we can't use the computer and we need to restart it.

Why this probleme occurs every three weeks?

The client take are update from Symantec Endoint Protection Manager and the server check for update every 4 hours.

Somebody have a solution?

Anyone have the same problem?

Thanks!

Jim
