I am in a managed environment, on Windwos 7 sp1.
I am trying to uninstall PGP 10.3.2 and Symantec Encryption Desktop (SED) in order to use the PC as a reference in setting up imaging of desktops.

I attempted to uninstall both parts of the package using Control Panel -> Programs & Features.
I uninstalled the 'PGP 10.3.2' entry first (which seemed to suceed), and then tried to uninstall the SED... which fails without a dialog error box.

Looking in the event log I see:
Event 1040: MsiInstaller 'Begining a Windows Installer Action...'
Event 8194: System Restore creating a restor point
Event 11725: MsiInstaller 'Product: Symantec Encryption Desktop -- Removal Failed'
Event 1034: MsiInstaller 'Windwos Installer removed the product: Product Name: Symantec Encryption Desktop. Product Version 10.3.2.15238.... Removal success or error status: 1603'

Thinking that I may have uninstalled in the wrong order (PGP first), I reinstalled the same version of the product (ESPGPWDE.10.3.2.exe), and rebooted when prompted.  Upon logging on again, I get prompted by the 'Encryption Desktop Setup Assistant' to encrypt my drives; and I exit that program.

I attempt to uninstall the SED first, and get the same result / failure.

How do I manually uninstall this package?

Never mind - I 'bulled' my way through cleaning the program out of services, registry and drive.

    close issue.
