    Hello,

As Per the Screenshot, the Policies are Locked from the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.

Please Follow the Steps provided below:

    1) Open and Login to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

    2) Go to 'Clients' and Select the Right group to which the Client belong to / report to.

    3) Click on 'Policies' Tab

    4) Make sure the check box that says 'Inherit policies and Settings from parent group' is unchecked.

    5) Double Click on Antivirus & Antispyware policy [Unshared]

    6) Click on Edit shared Button

    7) Uncheck on 'File System Auto Protect' or/and Unlock the Lock next to it.

    8) Wait for few Seconds and then check the client.

you have to do that on SEPM.

click on group the client belongs to , edit the AV/AS policy ---> File system autoprotect settings ---> click on the lock symbol, it shows unlocked. Once confirmed about the policy been applied on client, the end user can change the settings as he likes.

    or use the registry trick,

    open registry..start -run - regedit

    go to

    HKLM\software\symantec \symantec endpoint protection \AV\storages\file system \real time scan

on the right hand side u wil find a key called OnOff..make that value to 0

0 and 1 wil control it....;)

    Hello,

It is highly not Recommended to turn off the Real Time Scan / Auto Protect Scan.

Please make sure before you Turn it off, you need to ready for the Risk associated with it.

    Hello,

    No worries.

The Package provided to you by your School was a Managed Package. So, when the computer connects to the Shool Network, it takes all the Policies from the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager server.

What you could do is, work on the registry changes steps provided above and that may resolve your issue.

with the above registry it can be enabled or disabled, however it will not help to uncheck and check.

To uncheck and check change the value "OnOff-L".
