  • 1.  Unable to upgrade SMG 10.0.3-3 to 10.5.1-2

    We’re currently using SMG 10.0.3-3 virtual edition running on a vSphere ESXi Server 5.0. Ever since the release of SMG 10.5, all available documentation say that upgrading from 10.0.3-3 to the latest version is only supported through version 10.5.1-2. This weekend I was finally going to upgrade our server. In SMG I clicked the Administration tab and then Version under Host group. Under the Updates tab I saw four versions listed: 10.5.4-4, 10.5.3-4, 10.5.2-3 and 10.5.1-2. All of them were red, and their status was ”Version not available for download/install”. Up until a week or two ago, version 10.5.1-2 was green and available for download/install.

    If I click the question mark next to 10.5.1-2, the dialog states: ”In order to update your appliance to version 10.5.1-2, your appliance must first be at version 10.5.1-2.” To install this version it actually has to be installed first!?

    I then tried to perform a comand line update using SSH without any luck.

    My guess is that something went wrong when version 10.5.4-4 was released, a prerequisite flag set wrong or something. Everything seemed fine before this update was listed in the update page of the host.

    What now? Do I have to install a new SMG from scratch and try to transfer all settings to it?
