Hi,

I've created a script to deploy Microsoft Products updates using "Execute Program" function.
I launch through this MSI and generate LOG into a same folder.
But now I need to extract some informations from these Log Files, and using the function "Read Line of File" it does not work : Wise was unabled to open log files.
If I copy/paste the contents of the log file into a new text document, it works.

Here is a display of a result of reading a log file :

Please help.
Thk'x.

This is what you get when you try to read a Unicode file using ASCII calls.

Wisescript reads standard text files, not Unicode.

So any solution to use this Log file?

Since vbscript is supported by any recent version of Wisescript, I'm sure you can figure the rest out.

What information are you trying to extract from the log? Pretty much everything it tells you will be contained in the MSI somehow.

Don't know why 'x' happened? Want to know why 'y' happened? Use ProcMon and it will tell you.
Think about using http://www.google.com before posting.
