Understanding Software Delivery Compliance in Agent

so i have a question as I am trying to understand the Compliant part of the software delivery.

If you install say Winzip from a manual install within the Altiris Agent. It will show compliant under Status. 

So if you uninstall Winzip, nothing changes from the Status section.

I was asked from my boss to look into this but I feel I know the answer.

Altiris console will show what it has completed so if an install is done from the agent window, Compliant simply states that Altiris completed its task and thus the word Compliant is no more than Success?

Also if you uninstall Winzip, it will not change in the console window as there is not checking going on so it will remain as Status = Complaint... correct?

sorry these are basics... but does anyone know of an article or where in any of the pdf's that explains this better? I have been searching but have been unsuccessful. Going to check some more..

The Compliance status will only change if your Detection Rule is correct AND if you run a Compliance Check after Winzip is uninstalled.

I use two Compliance Check Schedules of 00:00 No Repeat and 12:10 Daily with immediate Remediation (install). That way the Policy will run as soon as the Agent picks it up and also every day. Then if you install Winzip manually and your Detection Rule is correct the Policy won't try and install it again. If you uninstall Winzip manually the Policy will reinstall it at 12:10 the next day.
