Endpoint Encryption

    Hi,

I'm working at a client site and a one of the clients just handed me a portable 1TB hard drive that was previously encrypted using the PGP4.4 product.  I am told it has a password on it to decrypt it.  User knows the password.

I've installed a Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.1.0 trial on a laptop, and indeed, it appears to have installed and encrypted the boot drive.  But it still won't recognize the encrypted portable 1TB hard drive.

I was under the impression that the software would recognize the drive was encrypted by an earlier version of the software and offer to unlock it.  Is my impression incorrect?

Thanks for any advice - I've not looked at this particular software before.

    HI jystickman,

Mostly Symantec Endpoint Encryption won't detect the Drive encyptrd by any other older version as per my Knowledge.

As SEE and PGP are Slighly Different Products.

You Could try decryption process by installing PGP version.

Thanks Hardeepsinh - that was kind of what I was afraid of.  The problem is obtaining the PGP software - is there any way to download it or preferably request a trial for the sole purpose of decrypting this single drive?
