An unexpected exception has occurred --- Resolution Please

I have observed this error a lot of times on my SEP-Management servers. Some more details from the logs - C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\temp\indexT.html (The system cannot find the file specified) 

I have also read some of the links mentioned in this forum like
2. - Not relevant to me.

But I dont see any resolution mentioned in these. What causes these kind of a problem? If I have to run the management server configuration wizard, what exactly do I have to look for in that? I have also tried to see the log files on the system as mentioned in some of the KB papers but the log files state the same thing as what I see in the console.

The logs are not much of use.

Let me know if anyone knows to resolve this problem.

Have you tried this workaround?


  1. On the affected machine set the Symantec SPBBCSvc Service to manual
  2. Reboot the machine
  3. After the computer has been rebooted, go to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager> Admin> Servers> Message section, to see if the error message has stopped being produced.

whats the version of sepm you are running,these issues do not occur on MU5..
