    Posted Aug 24, 2012 02:52 AM

I make a fresh install of SEP12.1 RU1 MP1 on Win Server 2008 r2 sp1 standard and MS SQL 2008 enterprise with sp3 patch, and i can log in to the SEPM.

but when i try to configure SEPM using disaster recover, after restored a database backup that comes from SEP12.1 on Win Server 2003 sp2 standard and MS SQL 2005 with sp3. I encounter a error message when log in to SEPM:" unexpected server error".

    can someone help me ?

    Many thanks in advance.

(I've been searched from KB, and the solution is not suit for my issue:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH191847&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1345788876747

    Solution

    1. Go to SEPM\apache\conf

    2. Make a backup of httpd.conf

    3. Edit httpd.conf

    4. Search for "FcgidImpersonation On" and replace it by "FcgidImpersonation Off"

    5. Save changes)

in My httpd.conf, "FcgidImpersonation" is already set to Off.

    Hello,

Could you please upload us the smc-server-0.log and catalina.out log which would assist us under the root cause of the issue.

Secondly, could you let us know what happens if you run the upgrade.bat from 'C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin\upgrade.bat'

I would suggest you to check these Articles:

Error on Logs com.sygate.scm.server.util.ScmServerError: Can't read local server from database!

Re-run the Symantec Endpoint Protection Management Server Configuration Wizard and input the correct server name.  If you left the default value and it failed, attempt to use the all lower-case or all upper-case alternative to the server name listed.  If both options fail, you can contact Symantec Technical Support for further assistance.
