    1. In the Windows Registry Editor, expand the following key:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

This key contains many <Product Code> keys.

    2. In the left pane, click each <Product Code> key.
    3. In the right pane, look at the DisplayName value.
    4. Find the <Product Code> key whose DisplayName value is Symantec Endpoint Protection
    5. Use the product code in the command line as shown in the next section of this document.
The surrounding braces are part of the code.

SEP 12.1 will upgrade over 11.x so you don't really need to uninstall first, but, it's up to you.

    Dear Brian,

thanks your comment, i know how to find the code. but i find 32 bit system and 64bit system has different code, so i want to confirm this.

and i know sep 12.1 can install without unintall sep 11, but i found a issue, after install sep12, they still connect to the old SEPM server, not the new server, in this case, i have to replace sylink again to change to new server. this is the reason i have to uninstall sep 11.

Yes, for 64 bit the product code is different than 32 bit, see similar thread here:

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/32-bit-package-64-bit-system

You can easily replace the sylink using the SEPM if you're on 12.1.2 or higher
