hi,
im using SEPM 12.1 RU3 and i have some 80 to 90 client group (folders) in it and all are not inheariting their policyes; i have set uninstall password for all groups(folders) and now i want to change in each group. my querry is, i have 18 indipendent SEPM and all servers has 80 to 90 group. insted of going to each group and chnge password, is there any other way to change uninstall password in one shot; or where this uninstallation password will be stored in SEPM?
thanks
If its not inheritiing YOu need to change it manually on all groups, no other go.
Hello,
No, there is no shortcut for changing these passwords at one shot.
You could have to change these uninstall password from each SEPM's only.
thanks; i do know that . my querry is where this uninstall password will be stored in SEPM?
The password will be in DB ( not sure of the table)
however on the client side it wil be encrypted form in the Smsinst key.
im using embedded DB for all the SEPM's.
The SEP client uninstall password is stored in the Symantec Database.
Check the Database Schema -
Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1.2 Database Schema
http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC6039
Note: SEPM 12.1.2 and SEPM 12.1.3 has the same schema.
Hope that helps!!
AFAIK its not possible to change as it will be encrypted and each group will have different password.
You can get in touch with support they might be having a query to rest the password.
Hi,
Thank you for posting in Symantec community.
As everyone said if policy is not inherited then need to perform stpes manually.
There is no such tool which can do this job.
thanks to all;
hi chetan, could you please let me know where this password stored in DB i mean to say in which table this password will be stores for both DB 1) SQL and 2) Embedded.
and also let me know how to check in embedded DB.
I would suggest you to check the Database Schema -
