    Hi

I need some help with unisntalling Symantec Endpoint Protection version 12.1

the client I work for has moved to a different Antivirus solution... the issue I have right now is we have about a few hundred machines which still have SEP installed on them and we are unable to automatically uninstall it...

we do not have the SEP Manager any more so there is no console using which I can manage these machiens.

THe program does not show up in Add/remove but I can see the icons in the system tray and protection is enabled.

Files, registry, SMC process and services are still present and running,

I am unable to kill the process or services as Tamper Portection is enabled.

I am unable to disable the tamper protection as it greyed out on the system, tried with the System Account, admin account as well.

tried changing the option in registry

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\Storages\SymProtect\RealTimeScan

Access denied.. does not let me do anything with it.

I figure the unless I am able to kill the process and services I will not be able to do anything with it..

Please could anyone suggest whats the best way to go ahead with this.

    Thanks

You need to contact support and get cleanwipe:

Download CleanWipe to uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection

Since the SEP client is not showing up in the add/remove program,it it possible that the SEP client may be corrupt. so in th senario your best bet is to run cleanwipe in these machines. it is time comsuming and manual work but there isn't a better and faster solution at the monent.

Download CleanWipe to uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection

Cleanwipe will remove all traces of SEP. This should get you what you need. If you have questions, check back here.

Make sure will run the latest version of Cleanwipe, but this tool need to be run manually on affected machines.

How about uninstalling Symantec Endpoint Protection trial version? Why is the uninstall button in the Apps & features menu of Settings (Windows 10) not active?
