Uninstall of Symantec System Center leaves services
Updated: 22 May 2010 | 3 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.
I uninstalled SSC to install SEP and it appears it has left some services which log event log errors when they try to start. This happened on two PCs that had SSC.
The services are:
Intel Alert Handler
Intel Alert Originator
Intel File Transfer
Intel PDS
Can I just remove these services in the registry or is there a better way to get rid of them? There is nothing in add/remove programs to get rid of them.

These are part of AMS server
Check if you find AMS in your add/remove programs..
If yes then remove it..
Otherwise follow this document
Manually uninstalling AMS server for Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.1 or Symantec Client Security 3.1 from Windows

VMWARE-- SEP 12.1 vs McAfee vs Trend Micro
Got the job done
Not everything was there but I deleted the services and good now. Apparently the uninstall did most of what it was suppose except for a few files and registry entries.
Thanks
