I know there is a new feature on SEP 12.1 ......MP1 to uninstall some third party security software. If I use that option , will SEP 12.1 uninstall SEP 11.5... then install itself ?

    Hi,

You can use autoupgrade feature don't need remove old sep Client

Upgrade clients to SEP 12.1 by Auto upgrade feature

    http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/upgrade-clients-sep-121-auto-upgrade-feature

Create new package with this setting and then push out

create the package as per this document

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH93617

    select this

Under Upgrade settings, select Remove all previous logs and policies, and reset the client-server communication settingsand then click OK.

    Hi,

Third party removal feature is introduced in SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1.

This feature can not remove SEP, it will remove supported products only.

Go through the following article to learn more about it.

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/work-progressdo-not-publish-sep-121-ru1-mp1-third-party-product-removal-feature

To remove SEP can use unsupported utility i.e. competitive uninstaller. This utility can remove the SEP and install it again.

It's really confusing Pete said "if you install SEP 12.1 successfully  then it will remove the SEP 11 after restart of the client machine"

Cheten said  : Third party removal feature is introduced in SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1.This feature can not remove SEP, it will remove supported products only.

I've no communication with my new SEPM(12.1.......MP1) and previous SEP clients (11.0.5........). What actually I should do ?

    Ok so If I install SEP 12.1 ........MP1 (where SEP 11.0.5 .....is running  ) I don't have to remove SEP 11.0.5 ?

Yes , It's automatic Upgrade and remove old sep client

But i think you have already upgrade

Check your comments another thread https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/critical-situation

I've to install SEPM 12.1 on a server. And uninstall SEPM 11.0.5..from another server.

I've to also upgrade the clients SEP version, where SEP 11.0.5 is running.
